As some of you may remember, I’m working through an inexcusable backlog of photos I’ve shot in the last couple of months. 2016 has been a long year, but that’s no excuse for being so slow editing all these photos.
So this was a great one — another effort from our friends at MusicFile Productions/Savannah Stopover — with Mount Moriah, Jake Xerxes Fussell, and Isaac Smith and his band.
Singer-songwriter Fussell played beautiful songs in between two sets that I expected to be somewhere in the genre of Americana rock but turned out to be flat out great rock and roll. I’d seen Isaac Smith solo — he’s great — but I wasn’t prepared for the power of the full band, and this was my first time seeing North Carolina-based Mount Moriah, a band that seems headed for much bigger things.
