Larry Jack’s Magical Music Tour – 6/18/15 – 6/24/15

Hey guys,
Just as I suspected last year, there really isn’t a summer slowdown in the quality of shows going on in Savannah.  The crowds may not be quite as big as when school is in session, but there are still plenty of shows to see.

Thursday 6/18 – There are several chances to catch some local favorites tonight.  City Hotel is playing an early show, Matt from the Accomplices will be at Molly’s, and I hope to finish the evening of with Wet Socks at Hang Fire.  Actually, the whole show at Hang Fire looks pretty good.
City Hotel (Sav’h bluegrass) – Mathes Land and Cattle Co (5:30)
Matt Eckstine (Accomplices frontman) – Warehouse
Wet Socks (Sav’h garage punk), Buzzmutt (San Francisco psych/punk/experimental), Generation Pill (Sav’h grunge-punk) – Hang Fire

Friday 6/19 – Looks like another rockin’ night tonight.  I really enjoyed Lullwater and Listen 2 Three the last time I saw each of them.  This looks like another good evening to sample a few different Savannah-area acts.
Lullwater (Athens rock), BigBigXtraFace (Sav’h hard rock), Falling In (Sav’h emo grunge) – Jinx ($7)
General Patton and the Heads of State (Sav’h jam rock) – Molly MacPherson’s
Isaac Smith Band (Sav’h indie rock) – Jazz’d
Listen 2 Three (Sav’h groove rock) – Congress Street Social Club
Steppin Stones (Hilton Head classic rock) – Wild Wing Cafe

Saturday 6/20 – I’ll be spending most of the night at the Social Club, I tend to like a big band with a horn section.
Hot Plate (Sav’h instrumental progressive rock), The Seduction (NC rock), Rotten Blush (Sav’h stoner rock) – Jinx ($7)
Magic Rocks (Sav’h classic rock) – Molly MacPherson’s
Major and the Monbacks (VA 8-piece psychedlic soul) – Congress Street Social Club
The Orange Constant (Statesboro jam band) – Barrelhouse South

Sunday 6/21 – A rare treat, two Sunday shows to choose from twice today.
Joe Nelson & James Pittman (Sav’h old style blues) – Blowin Smoke  (1p)
Great Peacock (Nashville rock) – The Grey (1-4p, $21, includes meal and a drink)
Hodera (NJ indie rock), Toy Cars (NJ folk-punk), Alex Raffray (Sav’h Americana) – Sentient Bean (8p)
Garden Giant (Sav’h rock), Carpet Coats (Sav’h freak-folk lounge rock) – The Foundery (8p)

Monday 6/22 – Looks like Hang Fire is gonna have a early-week show every week now. This looks like a good one.
Street Clothes (Sav’h rock), ESP (KS emo), Streetkings (post coital from MO), Broken Glow (Sav’h hard rock) – Hang Fire

Tuesday 6/23 – A Tuesday night with two of Savannah’s best guitarists.
Ben Keiser Band (Sav’h classic rock) – Bay St Blues
Eric Culberson Open JamBayou Cafe

Wednesday 6/24 – A good Wednesday night show at one of the stranger places to see a band.
Wood and Steel (Sav’h rock) – Rocks On The Roof
