Larry Jack’s Magical Music Tour 4/10/14-4/15/14

Hey guys,
I hope you made it downtown for at least one of the great shows last weekend. As usual, there were several exciting shows up and down Congress Street all weekend. I especially enjoyed COEDS’ debut at the Jinx, Omingnome’s new line-up at Barrelhouse South, and Heyrocco at Hang Fire. There is such energy in the music throughout downtown that it gives the entire area a truly magical feeling. This weekend is full of more exciting shows and I am sure more of that Savannah Music Magic. I am not sure if I talk much about the variety of music downtown, but I am sure you can find something you like. Even on a Thursday, you can manage to see some punk rock (Crazy Bag Lady), jazz-funk (4th Ward Afro-Klezmer Orchestra), Americana (TimeCop vs DangerSnake) and R&B (Ambrose) all within steps of each other at Hang Fire, Molly MacPherson’s and Barrelhouse South (old Retro). There is that much variety on most nights downtown.

One last (I hope) request, if you haven’t voted in the Connect Best of poll yet, I would like to go to the Best of Party. So, if you can live with it, vote for me for best blogger (instead of the many better bloggers) so I can go. Or vote for my wife, Susan Sammons (Ga Southern University) for best nurse, cause she really is the best nurse. And I hope that she would take me.

On to the music picks.
